It's Back-to-School time and Discovery Education has provided resources that support teachers at the beginning of the school year or anytime they want to build community in their classroom. Read below to learn more about resources to help you learn about your students and resources to help teachers learn more about Discovery Education. 

Learn about your Students

Inspired by Harry Wong’s “The First Days of School”, each of the studio presentations below have a dozen easy-to-use whole group activities that provide opportunities for students to learn about their classmates, share what’s important to them, and develop skills to be happy and enthusiastic about learning.

Learn about Discovery Education

Use these Tic-Tac-Toe Boards in professional development sessions or in asynchronous opportunities to encourage teachers to explore Discovery Education.

New teachers will need help learning about Discovery Education. Here are a few resources to help get them started: 

• Self-Paced Interactive Courses: Learn more about DE through these courses and receive a certificate of completion at the end for credit.  
• Community Favorites: Hear how other educators in the Discovery Educator Network are using DE in their classroom.
• Educator Supports: Find resources to support integration of DE into the classroom, no matter what level of understanding you have.  
• Help Center: Find articles and support for every aspect of the product.

Creatively Engage Students During Testing Review 

• SOS Instructional Strategies are the perfect way to keep students engaged while reviewing key content from the school year. With categories in summarizing, identifying key ideas and details, sequencing, and more, combining these strategies with DE resources adds some fun to learning and review. If you're looking for curriculum support, at-home activities for students, or professional learning resources, Discovery Education has a Summer Learning Activities DE Channel, which is full of ready-to-use activities that cover a wide range of topics, subjects, and grades. In addition, they have tons of subject-specific content resources perfect for summer learning, as well as engaging at-home resources that get the whole family involved! If there is a need for professional learning, DE has a variety of on-demand eLearning opportunities for educators also.
