Educational Technology at IU13

IU13 Instructional Services is pleased to announce that we are now offering LDAP services for IU13 IMS (Instructional Media Services) member districts.  Through the use of LDAP, your teachers and students will receive users accounts in which they log in to Discovery Education using their regular school credentials.  We are excited to offer this service as one of your IMS membership benefits. 

All current "playlists" will roll over to the new accounts so teachers/students need not fear losing what they have already set up.

For the first time ever, the White House is announcing the White House Student Film Festival!  Calling all students k-12, you can create a short film that could be shown at the White House!  How exciting to have the possibility to show off your video creation skills to the entire world!  Taken directly from the Student Film Festival website, possible topics include but are not limited to:

ProQuest CultureGrams is one of the services included in your IMS membership and they now have produced a LibGuide for your use.  CultureGrams provides you with a database that "... goes beyond basic facts and figures on more than 200 countries, with up-to-date reports detailing daily life and culture, history, customs and lifestyle from an insider's perspective. (excerpt directly from the LibGuide)." 

Computer Science Education Week is December 9-15, 2013.  In order to celebrate this year, The Hour of Code 2013 has begun!  The mission: Introduce 10 million students to coding in a one hour session ages 6-106.  Several school districts in our IU13 have already registered full k-12 classes in Math and Computers to take one hour during this week to introduce this to their students.  Check out the video for more details:
