What's new to the IMS this 2016-2017 school year you ask? IU13 IMS is pleased to partner with Gale Cengage Learning providing two popular research databases Student Resources in Context and Opposing Viewpoints in Context. Starting this school year, all our IU13 high schools have access to these two powerful databases for student research. No account log in information is necessary when using these databases at IU13 or in each high school. When at IU13, go to the homepage on this IMS blog and click on the link to these databases in the upper-left corner under Resource Links. When in each high school, navigate to your library/media center webpages to find active links to these databases. Notice that once you find the research you are looking for, you can log in to your Google Drive (GAFE) account and annotate the articles all while keeping the notes in your DRIVE! BrainPop is a great educational tool to help engage & motivate student learning independently, in small groups, and within direct instruction. Investigate the multitude of topics/units in Science, Math, Social Studies, English, Health, Arts & Music, and Engineering/Tech. The 9th Annual Elementary Technology Conference (Dec. 6, 2016) is designed especially for K-6 educators. Come join your colleagues as they share ways to engage your students with technology-rich lessons and ideas. The 2nd Annual Secondary Technology Conference (Dec. 7, 2016) is designed especially for 7th-12th grade educators. Back by popular demand, both conferences will highlight sessions specifically for administrators!
We need your expertise and would like you to share how you integrate technology in your classroom in order to personalize learning. Or, are you an administrator who is willing to share how you leverage technology leadership in your buildings? We are looking for elementary and secondary teachers and administrators who are willing to present a 50 minute session spotlighting your technology integration passions.
We are accepting session proposals through the end of September 2016 so we can have the conference schedules posted by mid October 2016. All primary presenters will receive a complimentary registration for the conference (1 presenter per a session).
We would love to hear how you are customizing learning for students through leveraging the use of technology in your classrooms. Session proposals fill up fast, so don't delay in posting your session ideas below!

It's hard to believe that this 2015-2016 school year is quickly coming to an end. I have been so excited for Spring to arrive! May brings nourishment, refreshment, new growth, and a lot of greens, pinks, and yellows as a sign of warmer weather to come! This week also brings with it a great celebration and attitude of thankfulness known as Teacher Appreciation Week!
