~ Transport your k-5 students to a working Egg Farm. Discovery Education, the American Egg Board and Egg Farmer Ben Thompson have joined forces to give your students a behind-the-scenes look at Pearl Valley Farms of Pearl City, Illinois. Join us as we highlight the journey eggs take from the farm to your table and show how America's egg farmers are working to reduce their environmental footprint! April 10, 2014: IU Meet & Greet: Philadelphia Museum of Art MAGPI Video Conference
~ Come join the Philadelphia Museum of Art to learn more about exciting new developments with their virtual programming, including new Pennsylvania-centered offerings and alignment with both PA state standards and CCSS. A museum educator will present ways that popular offerings such as Days of Knights, Mythology, and Math and Art are taught, while showing the interdisciplinary and fun nature of all lessons. Participants will also get a taste of new offerings for this school year including Fall into Art! and Art Stories for Pre-K-2nd grade audiences, and Pennsylvania Artists for 3rd-12th grade. April 24, 2014: Art Museum Opposities MAGPI Video Conference
~ This lesson uses the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s children’s book Art Museum Opposites as a springboard for talking about art by comparing and contrasting, and elaborates on the works featured in the book through games, activities, and additional images of the works. Art Museum Opposites teaches young students how to visually understand opposite distinctions using paintings, sculptures, and other objects from the famed collections of the Museum.
