It's May already!  How did that happen so quickly?  It's great to see everything in full bloom outside reminding us a new season which brings new adventures and excitement along the way.  We are looking forward to a great month in the IMS land.  Check out the line up of events:

• 5/7/15: Google Apps for Education Workshop Learn about an amazing world of asynchronous collaboration through exploring Google Apps for Education including Google Drive, Googledocs, Google Slides, Google Spreadsheets, and Google Forms. This workshop will be exploratory so make sure that you bring your laptop and Google Apps for Education logins.
• 5/19/15: Tech Media Integrator's Meeting   This month we are joining with our principals for the first part of the meeting.  Attorney Mark W. Cheramie Walz of SWEET|STEVENS|KATZ |WILLIAMS will present the following: Educators and the Use of Social Media Presentation: Do you have questions regarding educator's use of social media in today's 21st century classrooms? This 90 minute presentation plus Q & A will cover a pro/con analysis of social media use by educators, a detailed analysis of First Amendment rights by teachers and students, developing guidelines for social media use by educators, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and relevant concerns related to copyright law. After this presentation, we will learn from Dr. Ollie Dreon from Millersville University about the new online teaching program for teachers. We will wrap up with a lunch celebration honoring those who are retiring in our group.
• 5/19/15: Elementary Technology Conference (ETC) Committee Meeting It is time to begin planning and organizing for Dec. 8, 2015 ETC.
• 5/21/15: Secondary Technology Conference (STC) Committee Meeting This is our very first meeting as we begin planning for our first annual STC on Dec 9, 2015.
• 5/21/15: OverDrive Committee Meeting This is for the OverDrive selection committee to select new titles to add to our IMS OverDrive collection for the following school year. Lunch is provided.
