The Hour of Code takes place each year during Computer Science Education Week. The 2019 Computer Science Education Week will be December 9-15. We have some ideas for you to try out during this special week. These ideas will be shared on this Blog soon so you have time to see what can fit in your lessons that week. Please send me pictures of your students doing some lessons! I would love to see what great stuff is occurring in our IU13 classrooms.

So excited to be able to provide these great resources to our winners of Novembers Blog contest. Megan Harnish Huaman from Valley Road, Lisa Kiss from Fairland, Andrea Peters, SLP, and Sue Bowers from Headstart at One Cumberland. Look over on the right of this Blog for December's item. Good luck:)

My next item to win is Little Genius Starter kit from OSMO. This kit came out in the last 6 months and is a fabulous learning tool. This is a kit that is used with an iPad and 4 free OSMO apps. It allows students to have a hands-on learning adventure. By using this tool students will spark their imagination, and use critical thinking skills. This kit focuses on building letters using manipulatives instead of pencils, answering comprehension questions to problems the OSMO characters face, and follow directions to create pictures of whatever is told to them. Here is a link to see it in action. To enter the contest you need to write a short 100 word or less essay explaining how you could use the tool in the classroom. Essays are due to Lori Blantz by December 12th. Essays will be read and voted on by our ESCES Supervisors on December 13th. Winners will be notified by December 17th. Good Luck!  Please have the essays sent to lori_blantz@iu13.org 👍
