Engaging Scholastic Story Starters

Click the link or the image above to learn more about Scholastic Story Starters!

Learn things like:

  • How can I use this in my classroom
Students could use the Scholastic Story Starters to practice creative writing as a warm-up, morning, or end-of-day assignment.  Students could generate the prompt and make a whole essay about the prompt in a Word or Google Document.  Students could even take a picture of their completed work and add them to a Google Doc and keep a running record of their writing warm-ups.
  • What is a Scholastic Story Starter? It is free?

Scholastic Story Starters is a fun way to have students write creative stories! The tool helps students create their own story prompts and provides formats like letters, journals, and newspaper articles. Students can even add a simple drawing to their story if they’d like all for free!

  • Do students need to sign in?

Nope.

  • Can students save their work?

Nope. Since students do not login they cannot save their work.
