Lumio
Are you looking for a way to make your lessons more engaging, interactive, and accessible—without needing fancy equipment? Lumio might be just what you need!
What Is Lumio?
Lumio is a digital learning tool created by SMART Technologies that transforms static lessons into dynamic, interactive experiences. Whether you're teaching in person, remotely, or in a hybrid setting, Lumio allows you to create, customize, and deliver lessons that include games, polls, collaborative workspaces, and formative assessments—all in one platform.
❓ Do I Need an Interactive Whiteboard to Use Lumio?
Nope! You do not need an interactive whiteboard to use Lumio. It’s entirely web-based, which means you can use it on any device with a browser—your laptop, desktop, tablet, or even your phone. Lumio is designed to be flexible and accessible, so you can teach from anywhere.
🧑💻 How Can I Get a Lumio Account If I Don’t Have One?
Getting started is easy:
- Go to https://www.lum.io
- Click Sign In or Get Started for Free
- Sign in with Google
Once you're in, you can start building lessons right away or explore the Lumio library for ready-made activities.
📱 Do I Need to Use Lumio with Student Devices?
Not necessarily. While Lumio shines when students can interact with lessons on their own devices (like Chromebooks, tablets, or laptops), you can still use it effectively without student devices. For example:
- Display interactive lessons on a projector or screen
- Use Lumio for whole-class activities like polls or games
- Guide students through content while they respond verbally or on paper
If your students do have devices, Lumio opens up even more possibilities for collaboration, independent work, and real-time feedback.
