Special Education K-12 Certificated/Licensed Positions

These are full-time positions at the professional level, in charge of creating, implementing, and facilitating special education plans for students in both Autistic Support (AS) and Emotional Support (ES) classrooms.

Minimum education and certification requirements include:

Teacher of Special Education (Center-based Emotional Support): Bachelor’s degree and an active PA Certification in Special Education
Teacher of Special Education (Center-based Autistic Support): Bachelor's degree and an active PA Certification in Special Education

Classroom Aides (Paraeducators & Personal Care Assistants)

Paraeducators are classroom teacher aides who work directly with students, assisting the teacher with overall classroom and student needs. Personal Care Assistants work more directly with 1 student. A day might include activities such as providing instructional assistance to students individually or in small groups at the direction of the teacher, escorting students to/from buses or the cafeteria, assisting students with personal hygiene, and/or helping with classroom recordkeeping.

Minimum education required: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
