Keynote Address - 8:30 - 9:45 AM

Leveraging Technology to Turn up the H.E.A.T. on Student Learning
Presenter: Dr. Chris Moersch, LoTI Connection
Advancements in technology are making laptops and handheld devices smarter, faster, lighter, and more accessible than ever before. Whether you are using a laptop or mobile device, educators must decide which application, learning environment (blended or online), instructional model (PBL's, CBL's, S.T.E.M) can best elevate teaching practices and student achievement given limited planning time during the school year. This keynote address introduces specific strategies for evaluating different learning configurations in K-12 classrooms based on their potential for increasing the amount of H.E.A.T. (Higher order thinking, Engaged learning, Authentic connections, Technology use) in student learning and improving professional practice.
