Here is an engaging and enriching science resource for teachers, Mystery Science. It looks great and they’re offering a free subscription to a few thousand teachers.

The site is gear to elementary, but some of the ideas can be stretched to secondary or at least used as an exploration activity. There are full lessons and mini lessons.
