Students from ESL and HSE classes at McCaskey paired up for some fun learning activities. The students in Laura Binkley’s ESL class and Margaret Giordano's HSE class used puzzle pieces to find their match in the other class. Brad Weaver’s HSE class and Beth Kennel’s ESL class gathered to learn about each other’s native countries and then used the data gathered to create charts and graphs!

Family Literacy

In October, the Lancaster Family Literacy classes taught by Laura Binkley, Liz Malin, and Nerva Ramos gathered at the Lancaster County Park for an Interactive literacy activity. Families spent time learning about the five senses in the park. They saw, smelled, touched, tasted and heard all the parts of nature! Their trip included a tour through the trail with the park’s nature guide, nature journaling, and a cookout!

Noras Class Group Pic-1

ESL @Lebanon

Nora Lubecki’s ESL class recently took a trip to the Lebanon Community Library. Students learned many new library words. One student brought her two children, who were great participants! The students were given a tour by two helpful librarians. They showed all the resources pertaining to adult learners. Afterward, the students teamed up for a scavenger hunt. They had to use their knowledge from the tour in order to find things. Additionally, six students got library cards. The students had lots of fun!
