Successful Instruction in a Multi-Cultural Classroom


A Facilitated Online Course for Teachers Who Have English Language Learners in Their Classrooms

Who should take the course?

Teachers in any content area who teach students with limited English proficiency.

Learn how to:

  • Describe cultural adjustment 
  • Explain second language acquisition
  • Analyze and identify challenges students face with academics 
  • Incorporate teaching strategies to support students 
  • Integrate assessment practices 
  • Explain plagiarism and support students to effectively summarize, paraphrase and cite sources

Time Commitment:

Course activities include instruction and dialogue with a content expert, collaboration with other participants, readings, videos and reflection questions.The course is open to each participant for one month and individual time commitment is approximately five hours.

Course Cost:

  • $95 per participant (when registering 10+ individuals)
  • $99 per participant (when registering 1-9 individuals)

 

Nonpublic schools - You may be able to use Title IIA funding to cover the cost of this training. Learn more by contacting your local education agency.


Act 48 credit is available for PA teachers.


This course is taught by a teacher with extensive experience among international students, immigrants, and refugees who will provide instruction in an interactive format.
