IU13 Ed Tech Team Updates

The IU13 Ed Tech Team is excited to share that we have a newly updated website AND new social media handles to share with you. In the past couple of years, our team has been expanding in order to provide the best Educational Technology services we can for our region and beyond. Personalized Learning has become quite a buzz word in educational circles right now as the focus turns to how we can provide deeper and more meaningful experiences for our students to reach them in ways that we perhaps have been unable to reach in prior years. Some people confuse personalized learning with forms of blended learning, although implementing a form of blended learning is indeed a stepping stone to help us move to creating more personalized learning environments for our students.

As we continue on our journey in supporting districts to create personalized learning environments for their students, I have been continually reminded about the need to build, support, develop, cherish, and encourage our teachers in the process. In a personalized learning environment, we focus so much on the "learner" and try to make all our decisions based on what is best for learning and the learner in the process. We focus on how can the learner help co-design the lesson, units, progressions, activities, etc. and what form of assessments are best for the learner to demonstrate mastery.

It is hard to believe that we are already finishing our second year of this current iteration of the IMS @IU13! As we continue to support the current version of the IMS, we are starting onsite meetings with districts to review current IMS data usage as well as all the tools/resources that are currently included with this version of the IMS.  We are looking forward to district feedback on how the IMS needs changed, revised, or altered in order to continually align with district needs and initiatives for the next cycle 2020-2025!
